Accusations of shooting chickens result in a tarp full of profanity; Man posing as cop to talk to ex-girlfriend – Greeley Tribune

EDITOR’S NOTE: The following is a summary of crime reports taken from the Greeley Police Department daily logs. Only a few of the hundreds of reports will be used in this weekly column due to space limitations.

Dec. 24

2:15 pm: A man in the 1000 block of 31st Avenue reported that neighbors accused him of shooting their chickens and placing a profanity tarp in front of their home.

3 pm: A caller in the 46th Avenue Court and 9th Street area reported that a man sat on the ground stacking glasses for hours.

11:45 pm: A caller in the 1900 block of 68th Avenue reported that teens in the building were disturbing the peace by bouncing basketballs and playing loud music.

December 27

8:15 am: A man in the 2500 block of 11th Avenue said a man threatened him because the caller asked him to buy gloves.

4 pm: A caller in the 300 block of 21st Avenue reported that a man carried a machine gun with his finger on the trigger as he walked down the street.

4:15 pm: A slurred man in the 1400 block of 13th Street said he was “sunbathing in South Florida” but could not find his heroin-addicted son who lived in Greeley.

4:30 pm: A caller in the 14th Avenue and 9th Street area reported that a man in a yellow construction jacket and hard hat was carrying an assault rifle toward a convenience store.

December 29

4:15 am: A woman in the 500 block of 13th Avenue reported that two suspect men were on her roof and hitting gutters.

12 pm: A caller in the 2800 block of 10th Street reported having problems with First National Bank for the past 15 years. The caller referred to the bank as a “multi-million dollar white collar crime” that was hiding the truth.

2:45 pm: A caller in the 600 block of 37th Avenue wanted officers to meet him in person because he was trying to retrieve his phone and the phone he was using was disconnected.

4 pm: A caller in the 800 block of 27th Avenue reported that a man was posing as a police officer to interact with his ex-girlfriend.

December 31st

9:45 am: A caller in the 1200 block of 71st Avenue reported a pair of jeans and socks on the Sheep Draw Trail.

3 pm: A caller in the 2000 block of Beech Avenue reported blood all over the neighborhood sidewalk and street.

3:45 pm: A security guard in the 3600 block of 10th Street reported that a man with knives was running outside the store.

4:30 pm: A caller in the 2400 block of 35th Avenue reported that a man who had been kicked out of dumpsters earlier was inside the building. The caller believed the man was trying to commit fraud.
