HelloFresh simplifies dining with take-out kits

HelloFresh simplifies dining with take-out kits

Can anyone else relate? It’s 5 pm. I walk through the front door of my house to find a starving husband and two “starving” children. We all know the phrase that comes next.

“What’s for dinner?”

Truth be told, 90 percent of the time I have nothing defrosted, nothing in the slow cooker, and everything frozen will take 45 minutes or more to cook. What should I do?

Read on to find out how you can receive 16 FREE HelloFresh meals, three surprise gifts, and FREE shipping!

My subscribers know from my newsletters that I am a working mom who preaches how important I believe it is to find the time to bring your family to the table for a home cooked meal at least three times a week. But we all know that this is generally easier said than done. I’ve shared Pinterest recipes, meal prep ideas and tricks, Crocktober recipes that focus on using our slow cookers, and more. All of this takes time to research, plan, buy food, measure, dice … and so on.

Now that I’ve tried it, I want to encourage you to consider including the HelloFresh meal kits in your weekly meal planning. Makes family meals so much easier, especially during the busy week. I’ve always wanted to try a food delivery service, but like many things in my “active” life, I make excuses not to or not to try it. So I was thrilled when Macaroni KID partnered with HelloFresh to allow select publishers to test their meal kit delivery service.

Everything about HelloFresh speaks SIMPLE, and let’s face it, parents NEED, WANT and STRIVE for simplicity in our lives. HelloFresh provides simplicity from start to finish. It all starts with joining their amazing website and community by setting up your account with a personal username and password. So let’s get started!

My kids are picky eaters so I wanted to involve them and my husband (who would eat just about anything) in choosing three meals. HelloFresh has designed their website to be very easy to use with:

  • 50 weekly menus and market items,
  • colorful photos of recipes,
  • nutritional and ingredient information,
  • preparation and cooking times, and
  • Multiple menu options for any picky eater for a dining experience that everyone around your table can enjoy.

Personally, I appreciated the meals labeled “Favorites To Go” and “Hall of Fame” to see what other families have tried and received rave reviews for.

We opted for the Melty Monterey Jack burgers with onion marmalade, garlic mayo, and crispy potato wedges. You can’t go wrong with burgers and fries at our house!

We also chose the Kickin ‘Cayenne Crispy Chicken Cutlets with Carrots and Mashed Potatoes. My kids and husband LOVE anything spicy and this was a crowd favorite and will definitely be a repeat meal.

Our last meal was a HelloFresh Hall of Fame recipe, Mommy’s Meatloaf with potato wedges and green beans. I mean, anything with “à la Mom” in the name that I’m in and I always love a good meatloaf.

The day our HelloFresh “gift” arrived, it was like Christmas Day for my kids (and me)! There is something special about having a box on your door full of fresh food. For me, one of the best perks of HelloFresh is skipping the grocery store and not having to buy full-size spices and ingredients that will likely have to be thrown away in a couple of months. HelloFresh sends you portioned ingredients for every meal to reduce food waste! Convenient!

Another feature I appreciate is the HelloFresh recipe cards. They’re big, beautiful, and colorful and have easy-to-view nutrition information, cook time, and pictures along with detailed cooking instructions. Sometimes in life, it’s the little things.

Did I mention that HelloFresh is aware that it is eco-friendly – almost all packaging is recyclable, from the box to the meal kit bags? My teenage daughter was the first to notice and mention how well everything was packaged and labeled in the box.

With its amazing offer of 16 free meals, 3 surprise gifts, and free shipping, why not try HelloFresh TODAY to invite your family over for dinner? Do you need a better reason?

The ingredients were so fresh – the vegetables looked and smelled like they had been picked from a garden. I’ll admit it. I never make mashed potatoes, but there is something encouraging about having all the ingredients in front of you and the easy instructions to follow. They were so good and my kids loved them.

Do any of you find yourself trying to find ways to get creative with the constant rotation of burgers, chicken, and the occasional pork in your homemade meals? I am so guilty of this! How many ways can you cook a chicken and make a ground hamburger dish? I wanted to try HelloFresh’s Cayenne Chicken and Monterey Jack Burgers to put a spin on the Hollifield house dinner regulars, and they didn’t disappoint, even the roasted green beans and carrots.

The Monterey Jack burgers came with onions, which we caramelized (and smelled amazing cooking) and a garlic mayo that we made, and then we topped it off with some delicious Monterey Jack cheese!

My son loved making the “crust” of our cayenne chicken with panko, monterey jack, and Frank’s Red Hot seasoning. Chicken was by far the family favorite!

Do you want to know the best part? My children wanted to participate in the preparation and cooking experience. I know right? I have 14 and 10 year old kids and they actually volunteered to help me prepare our HelloFresh dinners.

Now it’s your turn to let the meal kit n. America’s # 1 Bring Simplicity to Seasonal Meal Planning and Your Dinner Table!
