LEANguini, which has the flavor appearance of a traditional linguine noodle, is a new noodle created by the culinary team at Noodles & Company and has earned its name for having 56% less net carbs, 30% less total carbs and 44% higher protein than traditional wheat noodles.
More agile start to the new year
The LEANguini launch will complement the Noodle options for health-conscious guests and further their commitment to nurturing guests with non-traditional, light and palatable noodle options. LEANguini was developed over the course of nearly two years by the Noodles culinary team to offer guests a one-of-a-kind noodle that delivers the same fresh noodle experience that includes flavor, texture, and palatable qualities but with fewer carbohydrates and calories.
“Menu innovation is extremely important to Noodles & Company. When we add new, better-for-you options to our menu, we use only the freshest ingredients to provide food that is not only better for you but has a strong flavor,” he said. Nick graff, executive chef and vice president of cuisine for Noodles & Company. “Our guests took the zoodles and cauliflower noodles very well, creating a healthy noodle that has the same taste and texture as a traditional noodle was the next clear challenge for our dedicated and talented culinary team and we believe you will love the result.”
Tasty ways to try LEANguini
To introduce LEANguini, Noodles is testing three new tasty dishes * paired with the new noodles and offering them as a replacement for any dish. These new fresh made-to-order dishes include:
- LEANguini Lemon Parmesan: LEANguini noodles in a new menu parmesan lemon sauce with roasted zucchini, Rome tomato, spinach and topped with Parmesan and parsley.
- Fresh LEANguini: LEANguini noodles with balsamic vinaigrette, olive oil, roasted garlic, tomato, red onion, spinach and topped with Parmesan cheese.
- LEANguini Shrimp Scampi: LEANguini noodles with shrimp in a light prawn sauce, roasted zucchini, Rome tomato and topped with parmesan, parsley and lemon.
“We can’t wait for our guests to try LEANguini in one of these featured dishes or simply substitute LEANguini in their favorite order,” he said. Stacey Pool, director of marketing for Noodles & Company. “In fact, our initial LEANguini coating showed us that more than half of guests would like to substitute these noodles in their favorite noodle dish, making LEANguini one of our most versatile and desired noodles yet. “
