Downtown Clarksville Parking App Goes Live in January

CLARKSVILLE, TN – The City of Clarksville is kicking off the new year with the launch of a new partnership with ParkMobile for downtown parking. The convenient contactless parking app puts parking information in downtown Clarksville in the palm of a user’s hand and makes paying for parking easier than ever.

Starting January 3, ParkMobile parking services will be available in downtown Clarksville. Through the app, users will be able to pay for street or garage parking, find open spots based on their location, track their remaining time, and more, all without having to use a parking meter or kiosk. Monthly parking permits will also be issued through ParkMobile’s payment system, making it quick and easy to renew monthly permits.

Parking App Comes to Downtown Clarksville

As part of this partnership, ParkMobile will serve 234 on- and off-street spaces throughout the city center. 1st and 2nd Street will be mixed-use, allowing users to pay with the street meter or via ParkMobile. The Cumberland garages in downtown Clarksville will also be mixed-use with new payment machines to be installed soon and ParkMobile-enabled.

This partnership will not only enhance the parking experience for our travelers and visitors to downtown Clarksville, but it will also allow for better efficiency and stewardship as our center continues to flourish, ”said City Parking Manager Michael Palmore. “ParkMobile also takes our parking management into the 21st century with contactless payments, push notification reminders, and more. It’s going to change the way we park downtown for the better.

ParkMobile’s partnership with the city also streamlines parking for those coming from other agencies and local cities. Austin Peay State University rolled out ParkMobile in 2020, which means the same app that students, faculty, and professors are used to will now translate directly to downtown Clarksville. Better yet, ParkMobile is also widely used in Tennessee cities, including Nashville, Memphis, Chattanooga, and Knoxville, with more than 326,000 registered users in the state.

The ParkMobile app is available from both the Apple Store and the Google Play Store.
